Sure, Ferrara has its charming medieval city centre, the Renaissance castle and a traditional Palio race in May. But we combine this with a real nightlife and festivals. "Ferrara Sotto Le Stelle" rounds up thousands of people (The National, Arctic Monkeys and Alt-J have all played here), the International Journalism festival attracts worldwide journalists, The Buskers Festival fills up the medieval streets with theatre and happy travellers, and there's more.
The city is called "la città delle biciclette" (city of bikes), and indeed our bike lanes run quite everywhere. University students meet up in front of the cathedral, especially on Wednesday for the traditional University Night. The town centre has the whole range of pubs and clubs, so you can either sip a glass of wine in one of the most ancient wine-houses in Italy or spend a glamour night at Ferrara Jazz Club, the best-rated in Italy. Oh, and don't forget to have "Cappellacci con la zucca" in a local spot! We'll tell you where.
